Circulation for Students:

• Books, including audiobooks, circulate for three weeks.
• Students can borrow up to three books or audiobooks of their choice at a time.
• Books for class projects and guided reading groups do not count toward this limit.
• Students can use their Destiny accounts to renew their own item. If students need more than one renewal, please see the library staff.  
• Fifth grade classes get time to browse for books during their library class.
• Some sixth classes set up weekly check out times for their students.
• Students can get a pass from their teacher to come down to the library to check out books at other times.

• Books  can be returned to the book return just inside the library between 7:45 and 4:00 PM.
• Class villages have a library book return crate that students can use as well. Library staff empty those several times throughout the week.

• The WIS Library is able to borrow books from other WCSD schools from September until May for our students' recreational reading and research needs.
• Please contact Ms. Wendorf with any questions about interlibrary loans.

• There are no daily overdue fines at Waunakee Intermediate School. If a student has an overdue book, that student will only be able to check out two books of their choice. If a student has two overdue books, the student can only check out one choice book.
• The fine for a lost library item is equal to the cost of replacing the item. The library does not accept replacement books in place of missing library items.

• Library staff will determine if books or other items damaged by water spills, pets, etc., will be able to be returned to the shelf for others to borrow. If the book must be replaced, a fine will be assessed that will not exceed the cost of an item.

• Overdue notices are delivered to students and families once a week.  Email notices will alternate with print notices that are delivered to student homerooms.

• The WIS Library is open to students from 8:10 am to 4:00 pm. 
• Technology use in the library is for school work only.
• Students using the library are expected to be respectful, responsible and resourceful as the library is an instructional space.

Students may visit the library during lunch recess. They just need to pick up a pass before their lunch period begins. There is a rotation for what days different villages can use the library.
